MONTPELIER — Police arrested a woman appearing to be unresponsive amid drug paraphernalia at the Park and Ride near Dog River Park on Aug. 14, according to a Montpelier Police Department press release. Law enforcement and the Montpelier ambulance responded to a report of a possible overdose involving an unresponsive person in a vehicle at around 9:40 p.m.
When they arrived, first responders could see what looked like drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle. As officers tried to secure the vehicle in order to investigate, Elizabeth Immich, 36, of Waterbury, “allegedly became physically confrontational,” according to the report. Police said she allegedly hit an officer as they attempted to secure the vehicle and physically resisted efforts to place her into custody. After she was put in handcuffs, she freed one hand and tried to get away before being secured again and brought to the Montpelier Police Department for processing. No officers were injured during the incident.
Police charged Immich with aggravated disorderly conduct, escape from lawful custody, simple assault on a protected professional, resisting arrest, and impeding a public officer. She was ordered to be held on $200 bail and cited to appear in Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division, to answer to the charges.
