MONTPELIER — Montpelier Alive is bringing back the Downtown Montpelier Ramble this summer, inviting residents and visitors to slow down, stay downtown a little longer, and enjoy Thursday evenings in the heart of the city.
Beginning May 28 and continuing every Thursday throughout the summer from 5 to 7 p.m., the Downtown Montpelier Ramble invites people to experience downtown in that in-between evening moment, with extended shopping hours, live street music, special events, and plenty of reasons to linger.
Participating businesses include Buch Spieler Records, Aromed Essentials, Bear Pond Books, Capitol Stationers, Woodbury Mountain Toys, Roam Vermont, Splash Naturals, Onion River Outdoors, Notion Fabric and Craft, Bailey Road, The Get Up Vintage, Marathon Sports, the North Branch Cafe, and Magpie and Tiger, with additional businesses joining throughout the season.
Every week different musicians will perform in various locations throughout town. Featured performers include Slaphappy Jack, Emma Gallo and Friends, D. Davis and Marc Gwinn, and more.
“The Ramble is about creating space for people to gather downtown,” said Katie Trautz, executive director of Montpelier Alive. “We want Thursdays to feel welcoming and lively, a reason to stay after work, run into neighbors, hear music, and support local businesses.”
