The Bridge will join a panel of local news makers on April 9, “Local News Day,” at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
Organized by Press Forward Vermont, an initiative of the Vermont Community Foundation, the event is part of a national day of action, supporting the connection between strong communities with trusted local news.
The event, from 5:45 to 8 p.m., will include a screening of “Reimagining Local News,” which highlights community-based innovations from around the country and a review of the recently released Vermont News and Information Ecosystem Research, followed by a panel discussion that explores how Vermont communities can strengthen trusted local news.
Local news leaders on the panel will include The Bridge’s Editor-in-Chief Cassandra Hemenway, Libby Sparadeo from VTDigger, and Kristen Fountain from the Vermont Journalism Coalition to explore how local news impacts Vermont and what’s needed to sustain this essential public resource.
The event is open to all; pre-registration is appreciated by calling 802-552-3224, or
