Cartoonist/author Alison Bechdel filled Bear Pond Books with her fans Tuesday evening, June 3, to talk about her new comic novel, “Spent” — deemed “a domestic comedy about ethical consumption under capitalism,” by the New York Times. Bechdel discussed the book and her work for nearly an hour and then autographed books for fans, who had to register in advance for the event, which filled the small Montpelier bookstore with readers.
