Paul CarnahanMarch’s “Then and Now” showed a sliver of this house at 24 Liberty Street; this month we get to see the entire building! This house was built by Joseph Fisher in 1880. Fisher ran a business called Fisher, Colton, and Kinson that made silver plated hardware for harnesses and carriages. In 1891 the house was sold to another Montpelier businessman, Wallace G. Andrews, president of Sabin Machine Company, who lived there for the next 45 years. Andrews probably added the porch around 1895, giving the house the appearance it has today, 130 years later.
