It was just three years ago that Anne Marie Shea started up her gluten-free bread-baking business — Bonté Bakery — at her home in Calais. Since then, the gluten-free business has taken off in a bread-loving area that already has outstanding gluten bread bakeries.
Today, Shea and her husband Rob Lamb are operating out of a commercial kitchen in Montpelier, have 10 employees, bake 300 loaves five days a week, and sell the bread at 30 locations, most within an hour’s drive, as well as online. Photos by John Lazenby.
