Press ReleasesMONTPELIER — After a lengthy search, Bethany United Church of Christ in Montpelier called Rev. Devon Thomas as its next settled pastor in a unanimous vote. Bethany partnered with Northfield United Church in the search and call. Rev. Thomas will serve each church half time.
“Everyone has a different experience of God’s love in the world, and I cherish the role that church communities can play in bringing people together to learn, grow, and support one another in this challenging period of human history,” Rev. Dev, as he is often called, wrote to the church in introduction.
Rev. Thomas comes to the two churches with a strong social justice history and focus.
“Serving Vermont communities has become the focus of my ministry. I realize that we are living through monumental times; times that are changing as well as challenging. And I wonder what role faith can play in Vermont today,” he wrote.
