Marshfield to Present River Plan Options
MARSHFIELD — Following devastating floods in the past several years, the Marshfield selectboard will present a river study reviewing 10 options, per recent meeting minutes. The goal is to choose three projects for concept designs and two for benefit–cost analysis for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The study will develop conceptual designs so the next time hazard mitigation funding is available, the town’s application will be ready. Other grants could be available as well. Two of the high priority areas are at the Rapczynski and Twinfield property and on Onion River Road. A third priority area is the land around the Old Schoolhouse Common.

Rumor Has it: Taco Bell Coming Soon?
BERLIN — The Bridge got its hands on an actual rumor that Taco Bell is coming to a spot in central Vermont. But just where has not been firmly nailed down. The employment websites Indeed and Glassdoor have job listings for a Taco Bell restaurant manager for Barre, Vermont, with no date or location noted. Rumors are flying on Facebook and Reddit, where people are saying they think it will be going into the former KFC location on the Barre-Montpelier Road. The Bridge went to that building and found none of the typical signs of such a move; for example, interior refurbishment and interior decorating of any type. Nor was there any type of permit on the door. Stay tuned.
Chico’s Closes
MONTPELIER – Chico’s Tacos and Bar has permanently closed its doors on State Street. Although The Bridge was unable to reach anyone for comment, the restaurant’s Facebook page has a final post stating “Unfortunately we are permanently closed …” and its website states “This is a Non Live Location.”
