The Bridge and ORCA Media have partnered to offer two forums for the two contested local Statehouse races. Both events will be held at the Montpelier City Hall from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, July 28: House

This forum features the Democrats running as representatives for Montpelier in the Washington-4 district. Three candidates are running for two seats, including the incumbent, Rep. Kate McCann, two-term City Councilor Pelin Kohn, and Jared Duval. There are no Republican candidates in this race.

Wednesday, July 29: Senate

This forum features the four Democratic candidates vying for three positions to represent Washington County in the Vermont Senate. Candidates are newcomer Gabriel LaJeunesse and incumbent Sens. Ann Cummings, Andrew Perchlik, and Anne Watson.

Three Republicans are running unopposed and will advance to the general election; Rob LaClair, Christopher Neddo, and Peter Schmeeckle.

The forums are free and open to the public. They can be viewed via livestream on ORCA Media or on The Bridge’s website at thebridgevt.org/candidate-forums.
