Planning Commission Pressed by Deadline

Montpelier’s Planning Director Michael Miller is hoping updates and corrections to the original draft of the 2025 City Plan will be approved by the members of the Montpelier Planning Commission at its April 14 meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Miller aims to have the updated draft of the plan completed by Friday, April 11, so commission members can review the updates over the weekend. Miller has been making changes to the first draft of the 2025 City Plan following numerous concerns raised at a public forum held March 24 at city hall.

The review of public concerns about the 2025 City Plan was guided by a detailed matrix of the issues raised at a publicforum in March and others submitted in writing. A comprehensive list of those concerns can be seen on the city’s website. 

If approved by the planning commission, Miller said the next step will be a presentation to the city council at its regular meeting on May 14. A second public hearing on the 2025 City Plan will tentatively be held on May 28. The city council will have the option to hold additional public hearings, Miller added.
